Sound profiles, spoken warnings, and custom warning sounds

Drive One supports more sounds than the regular beeps you know from the device. Below is a guide on how you can use spoken alerts, record your own sound, or use a local sound file from your phone.

Sound profiles

Sound profiles are a quick way to change all your warning sounds at once. Here you can choose to use the standard sounds, swap the sounds (so that speed control sounds are used for traffic hazards and vice versa), or choose spoken warnings with either a male or female voice.

Once you’ve selected a sound profile, a few test sounds will play. Finally, you’ll need to confirm your choice, and here you can decide whether to keep the beeps from the device or only hear your selected sounds through your phone or an external speaker.

Spoken warnings

If you’d like more detailed information when approaching a warning, spoken warnings are a great option. A male or female voice will tell you what kind of warning is ahead.

You can either go into each individual warning > Warning sound and activate spoken warnings, or use the sound profiles described above. If you use sound profiles, spoken warnings will be applied generally.

Record Your Own Sound

For a bit of fun, you can record your own warning sound — for example, a funny message from a friend or your partner. Your own sounds can be recorded directly in the Drive One app by going into each warning you want to change > Warning sound > Record your own sound and following the guide from there.

Choose Your Own Sound

You can also select a local sound file, such as a ringtone, your favorite song, or something else entirely. This is also done by going into each warning type you want to change > Warning sound > Choose your own sound.
